Nigeria’s Most Influential Teenagers of 2017

Some Nigerian teenagers are not just exceptional, they are trendsetters, they influence what other teenagers do, and even make adults swoon over them.  These teenagers range from artistes to actors, media personalities and even comedians.

Simply put, they set the pace for others to follow; they are:

  1. Captain E

Captain e

Born M.J Ekeinde, the 19 year old son of the Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is a prolific music producer. Captain E who boasts of over 2000 beats has collaborated with the likes of Seyi Shay, Falz and Mr Eazi. This year, the young star who is in college studying media released a sequel to his LP “Sounds of Winter”.

  1. Priscilla Ojo

Priscilla Ojo

Priscilla Ojo who is currently in Babcock University is a star in her own right. Priscilla has a great following online and is known for starring in movies like Silence. The award winning actress also launched a clothing line in 2017 tagged Priscyscloset.

  1. Mayowa Nicholas

Mayowa Nicholas

When you think of A-list models, Mayowa Nicholas comes to mind. This 19-year-old got the gig to walk the 2017 Victoria Secret Show with supermodels like Adriana Lima, Jasmine Tookes, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid but couldn’t strut the runway in China due to visa issues. Mayowa has gone on to feature on Vogue Italia and walked for notable international designers including Hermes, Balmain, etc.

  1. Ihechi Opara


18-year-old Ihechi Opara is making his name known in the media space. This year, the University of Ibadan student was named a UBA Ambassador, co-hosted the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards and launched his new talk show “Undiluted with Ihechi” on R2TV.

  1. Michelle Aigbe


Michelle Aigbe has been breaking boundaries since 2015; proving that she is more than just the daughter of Nollywood star, Mercy Aigbe. The 17-year-old is one of the most followed Nigerian teenagers on Instagram. She is known for her fashionable styles and is a major influencer on major trends amongst teenagers.

  1. Regina Daniels

Regina Daniels is one of the most sought after actresses in Nigeria at just 16 years old. Regina who still attends a secondary school in Asaba has been on set with some of the best in the industry. The actress has starred in numerous movies like “Without Heart”, “Python Girl” and ”Powerful Twins”.

  1. Treasure Obasi

Treasure Obasi

At age 19, Treasure Obasi has established herself as an actress, broadcaster, poet, model, writer and motivator. The University of Lagos student is an Indomie Campus Ambassador and hosts The young Inventors show on NTA.

  1. Susan Pwajok

Susan Pwajok

14 year old actor, Susan Pwajok has continued to warm her way into viewers’ heart portraying the role of Blessing in sitcom, The Johnsons. Susan has acted in several Nollywood movies starring alongside Nollywood big guns like Michelle Dede, Joseph Benjamin and Kehinde Bankole.

  1. Favour Opara


Favour Opara is undeniably one of Nigeria’s most influential teenagers on Instagram. With over 150k loyal following the trendy teen always deliver on fashionable style and reputable topics. Favour who is described as an actor and model was recently nominated for Personality of the Year at Teens Innovation Awards.

  1. Seyi Classic

Seyi Classic is fast becoming a Youtube phenomenon. He is known for uploading comic videos on Instagram.  The teen who is based in the United Kingdom recently co-hosted the Nigeria Teen Choice Awards.
